NOMINATION AND ELECTION
The nomination and election of members to fill vacancies on the Buller District Board passed off very quietly yesterday. At noon the Returning Officer, Sir John Munro, declared himtelf ready to receive nominations, there then being but a few persons present. After patiently waiting to allow for difference in time-keepers, the Returning Officer proceeded to take nominations, and the following were made :
Mr J. W. Humphrey proposed, and Mr Blacklock seconded, the nomination of Mr Edward Ings. Mr J. W. Humphrey proposed, rnd Mr John Gilmer seconded, the nomination of Mr Philip M'Enroe. Mr 11. Rowlands proposed, and Mr Blacklock seconded, the nomination of Mr Richard Hume. No other nominations were made and the Returning Officer ultimately declared the three nominated persons duly elected. A vote of thanks to the Returning Officer terminated the proceedings
