The news received from Boatman's on Saturday last should give still greater confidence in mining ventures in that locality. The first crushing of stone from the Just in Time claim has yielded 1240 ozs from. 110 tons of stone, and a portion of the tailings afterwards treated in the Anderson Company's berdan yielded another ounce to the ton. This result exceeds the most sanguine hopes of the shareholders, and they are gladdened by knowing that the claim will yield an sibundanee of stone of similar richness. Ths prospects in the Fiery Cross, the adjoining claim, are equally cheering. At the Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday P. J. Brtien, again convicted of drunkenness, was fined 20s, and sentenced to seven day's imprisonment.—J. Brown convicted of a similar offence was fined 10s> and 6s Gd costs.
