MR. O'CONOR'S MEETING AT ADDISON'S.
(communicated.) This meeting was held at Mr M'Enroe's Hotel. Mr Mulligan took the chair, and the attendance was large. Mr O'Conor reviewed the action of the Legislature during the past session, and referred to various subjects of interest to the audience in connection with the progress of the goldfields and the Colony. Mr O'Conor's speech lasted over an hour and a half, and several questions were afterwards put to the Candidate on matters not referred to in his address. To each of the questions Mr O'Conor replied in the fullest and most satisfactory manner. A {vote of thanks was then proposed and carried unanimously, after which Mr O'Conor invited the meeting to exprees an opinion as to the desirability of his entering the field as a candidate for the Superintendency, explaining his views as to the position and duties of a Superintendent. Several gentlemen in the meeting
eulogised the conduct pf Mr O'Conor as t a representative, and a resolution was then formally put and carried unanimously in favor of Mr O'Conor's candidature. A. Vote of thanks to the chair terminated the proceedings.
