Richard Webdale and three others. —Re-registration of dam, 100 feet by 500 feet, Middle Terrace, Caledonian. Granted. John Landy.—Dam across Black Ball Creek, at Darkies' terrace, one mile east of the Black Ball store. Objected to by John O'Rourke and party on the ground that the site applied for is on the lead for which water is about to be brought in. Postponed until next sitting of the Court, to receive surveyor's report. John Hamilton.—Special site, half an acre, south side of Maori Creek, about one mile from the junction with the Mokihinui. Granted. Size to be reduced if Warden-thinks necessary. RACES. Charles Brandes and four others.— Head water-race from Wardrope and Brown's slaughter yard, Caledonian terrace, to applicants' northern dam, German terrace, one mile and a-half, N. and S. Granted. T. Dickman and three others.— Head race from Fern Tree Gully to existing head race at the Orawaiti river, 20 yards N. and b. Granted j subject to no enlargement of present water right held by the Orawaiti race. Same.—Head-race from Pine Gully to Orawaiti race, 20 yards N and S. Granted; subject to similar restriction. Same.—Head race from Government Cfeek to Orawaiti race, 30 ya-ds N. and 8., two sluice-heads. Granted for 20 inches. Philip F. Thiele.—To alter course of registered tail race, to a course 500 yds E. and W. through dam formerly held by John Sleigh. John Landy.— Head water race, commencing at dam across Black Ball Creek, Darkies Terrace, and terminating in tail race held by Myles M-Phadden on Addison's Flat. Three fourths of a mile E. and W. Granted. John Hamilton.—Head water race from Maori Creek to machine site, No. 2 North. Half a mile E. and W., four heads. Granted conditionally, on sufficient names being supplied. EXTENDED CLAIM. O'Rourke and five others. Mi 1 Shapter for defendants. Complainants claimed to have marked out on the 4th April last an area at Frenchman's Terrace, Addison's, and on the 15th of April made application for a lease of such land, and paid the necessary deposit of £2O. They now complained that the defendants had encroached upon such area on the lsth April, and marked off a portion thereof as a goldmining lease for their own purposes. Judgment given for plaintiffs.
