PROCLAMATION. By His Honor Oswald Cixetis, Superintendent, of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, <fcc.-, &c, &c. I OSWALD CURTIS, Superinj tendent of the Province of Nelson, in exercise of the power and authority in me vested in that behalf, do hereby Proclaim and Declare that from and after the First day of April next, the following Regulation shall •come into force on the .Nelson SouthWest Goldfields, and shall form part of the Rules and Regulations thereof now in force thereon : Beach Claims. Beacn 'claims Bhall mean all claims extending below highwater mark on the sea beach. Such claims Bhall in all cases be deemed to be extended to the sea, although their boundaries in that direction be not marked by pegs, and although the area so held be greater than could be held without this Regulation, and "this Regulation shall -not interfere with -any power which the Warden may btherwise have to grant extended claims'df any kind upon the beach. The Warden shall have power ; &t any time to "rectify the boundaries of beach claims, or to define a base line to which the side boundaries shall be at right angles ; to nearly as circumstances permit Beach claims shall 'Hot interfere with any traffic along the beach, nor with the discharge of water, tailings, or other matters thereon, provided that the Warden shall have power to prevent, or regulate, the discharge of such water, tailings, or other matters.
