The starting of another Flax Spinning Company 'is contemplated in Canterbury. The capital is to be £15,000, in 3000 shares df £5 each. The company, according to the Lyttelton Times, 'will not undertake the dressing of flax, biit will confine itself entirely to manufacturing the fibre into Backing and Js'mcs. There is a miners' strike at Stawell, Victoria in favor of ten hours' work. There has, however, been no disturbance. Captain GHlbee has been dismissed from the Volunteer Force.
