AUCKLAND. March 31. Arrived—The Lady Bird from Sydney. LONDON. March 23. Liverpool wool sales show decline two pence in good, penny in medium, attendance good. The Eight Honorable Gatehorne Hardy has brought forward a motion in the House of Commons to the effect that the Government should inform other powers that they dissent from the principle of the Geneva award as the rules of the Washington Treaty render neutrality impossible. Forster and Jesset (?) replied that it was imperative and more politic to ask America to withdraw her rules and substitute others, and then jointly submit them for ratification to the great powers. Hardy's motion was ultimately withdrawn.
