BULLER COAL AND RAILWAY COMMITTEE.
At a meeting held on the 25th inst. the following resolutions were adopted.
That the committee having learned that Mr E. J. O'Conor declines to go to Wellington as a member of the deputation appointed to wait on the Government, the Secretary be requested to intimate to Mr O'Conor that other arrangements will be made, but the committee hope they may rely on Mr O'Conor's promised co-operation in their movement. That in view of Mr O'Conor's declared action the deputation consist of the gentlemen appointed at the previous meeting, leaving out Mr O'Conor's name, and that the Superintendent be advised of what arrangements have been made.
A message was also sent yesterday to the Superintendent, enquiring whether Dr Hector was coming down from Nelson, Ime telegram received by Mr O'Conor from Wellington intimating that Dr. Hector was th«?n at Nelson In the afternoon the following telegram was received from the Minister of Public Works.
" Government Buildings. E. J. O'Conor Esq., M.H.R., Westport. " Dr Hector will be at Greymouth probably to-day, he goes on to West-
port, he was aware of the coal at Waimangaroa, he will now report fully upon it, and has authority to spend what is necessary for proper exploratian. I have no roply yet from Superintendent of Nelson."
