POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25thj publishes the following regulations fo> the banks as above newly established at Clrista church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akru<>« Ilokitika, Greyniouth, VVaimate, Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, oof annum is given on £2OO and under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on turns under £SOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every complete £1 deposited, provided that no interest be aIL*-id on more than £SOO. 2. Depositor? in the Post Office Savinpls Banks have duvet Security fir the prompt repayment of their money. 4. The strictest seeresv is observed wiife respect to the names, if depositors in Post I >fiice Banks, and the amouiits of their deposits. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post OfSce Banks can continue his deposits at any other of such Banks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Bank which is most convenient to him by giving notice of his re' movul. 6. Money may be deposited by or on hihalf of minora. Depositors over seven years of age are treated as persons of full age, hut minors under seven years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until they have reached the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in each District on the business of Post Office S.'v. ngs Banks, ind the replies sent thereto afe free fron c.targe or postage.
