WESTPORT WARDEN'S COURT.

Tuesday, January 21. (Before J. Giles, Esq., Warden.) Application—J. Braithwaite and Peter Nelson for protection for six mouths for claim and tail race, situate at Middle Terrace, Caledonian.- to allow tail race being brought through an area granted under mining lease. Objected to by Messrs M'Le'od and Bossard on the plea that applicants wished to shepherd the ground and prevent them working to the northern boundary of their claim, and also that the protection if granted would lead to litigation and trouble without end. Application refused.
