The cause is unknown. The damage is estimated at £4OOO. George is insured in the Boyal for £250; Gilchrist, Royal, £2OO, and Victoria, £750 ; Coventry, New Zealand, £2OO ; Algie, Royal, £125. The losses are =4*4000, and the insurance £16*50. The experiments here prove that the Port Molyneux iron sand is better than the Taranaki for manufacturing steel.
