ARRIVAL OF THE ENGLISH MAIL, VIA SAN FRANCISCO.

Sept. 16. The Nebraska arrived here at nine this morning. No sickness on board. She brings English dates to August twenty-sixth. The New Zealand Mercantile Agency Company has announced a dividend of ten per cent per annum for months, on old shares, and three mouths on new shades. Only four persons were saved from the steamer which collided with the emigrant ship iu the channel. Aug. 17. Parliament was prorogued on the tenth. The Queens speech was read by commission. Her Majesty congratulated the parliament that the coutroversy on the American Indirect Claims, had been settled by the spontaneous declaration of the arbitrators, who had consented to her views, and reflected with satisfaction that the subject no longer offered any impediment to peace and friendship between two kindred nations. She declared the determination of her Government to deal more effectually with the East African slave trade, and congratulated Parliament on the activity in commerce. The passage of the act repealing the Party Procession Act, has been celebrated throughout Ireland. A processon in Belfast was stoned by a large crowd. The processionists retaliated, and terrible excitement ensued. The riot continued through the whole city for three days. Mauy arrests were made, and the disturbances were only quelled by the great activity of the police. The Emperors of Germany, Russia, and Austria will meet soon at Berlin to consider the revision of the Paris treaty of 185 G. There is great excitement in California over tho discovery of diamonds in Arizona. The Mexican revolution is concluded. The Argentine Confederation and Brazil are now preparing for war. President Balta, of Peru, has been assassinated. A prize fight between Mace and Baldwin is projected in September. The German Government intimates the intention to hold Belfort as compensation from France. The Geneva arbitration has not concluded its labors. The Dacotah docs not go to Melbourne.
