RESIDENT MAGISTRATE COURT.
Monday, Febeuabi 26. (Before J. Giles, Esq., R.M.) Rafferty v. Howden and Co., Dunedin —Mr. Fisher for plaintiff, Mr Home for defendants. This was a case of packing bottles without straw in casks, for shipment to thedefendants who are distillers in Dunedin. On their arrival it was discovered that only four dozen were in good condition. Plaintiff said that he was in the habit of sending bottles in that way, as straw would cost here as much as the bottles were worth. Judgement for defendants. C. Brown v. Campfield. The defendand lives at Wellington, and refused to accept service of summons, as his name was Walter Batty Campfield, not William Campfield. Adjourned for identification. Aristethes Apostolopolis v. Peter Mango. Mr. Fisher appeared for plaintiff, Mr. Home for defendant. Question of disputed wages. Plaintiff nonsuited, paying costs. Several small debt cases were disposed of, when the Court adjourned.
