THE HOSPITAL CONCERT.
(To the Editor of the Westport Times and Charleston Argus). Sib, —A paragraph appeared iu your paper some time since informing the public that an amateur concert would take place during the Christmas holidays for the benefit of the Westport District Hospital, in connection with the concert for the Athenaeum, and that a sub-committee, from the former would act iu concert with Mr Hughes, who represented the Athenaeum Committee. Fully expecting to hear from the Hospital sub-committee with reference to this, we practised certain songs, &c, in order to prepare for a second entertainment, and were not aware that the appointed persons had taken no steps in the matter uutil we were so informed last woek. Resolving that the Hospital should not suffer from the neglect of this sub-committee, we formed a committee from among our own members, and determined upon carrying out the concert, which, as will be seon by the advertisement, is now arranged for the Ist January next, when we trust that the public will come forward and enable us to hand over a handsomo sum to the committee of so useful an institution.— We are, &c, The Amatetjus.
