Mr Albert E. Cohen, aged 25 years, died suddenly at his shop door Auckland on the 17th inst. At the inquest witnesses were examined with tho view of eliciting evidence as to whether the deceased had committed suicide without, however, throwing any light upon the cause of death. The medical evidence up to Saturday did not assign any cause of death. The further examination was adjourned until Mouday. Ketiuy, a clerk in the Telegraph Department, Napier, died suddenly on Monday evening, October 23. The Dunedin gas works have been purchased by Mr Larnach for £17,800. At the inquest on the Chinese who died on board the Union, a verdict was returned tr-at improper food and uncleanliuess were the causes of death.
