POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK

The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25th, publishes the following regulations foi the banks as above newly established at Chiist church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akraoa Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, Westport and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate of 4 per cent, per annum is given on £2OO and under ; at the rate of 3 per cent, per annum on mms under £SOO ; and in the same proportion for any shorter time on every complete £1 deposited, provided that no intere=t be albwed on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors ta the Post Office Savingls Ranks have direct Gjvernment Security for the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Office Ranks can continue his deposits at any other of such Ranks, and can withdraw his money at that Post Office Rank which is most convenient to him by giving notice of his removal, 4. The strictest secresy is observed wiih respect to the names of depositors in Post Office Ranks, and the amounts of their deposits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on behalf of minors. Depositors over seven years of age are treated as persons of full age, but minors under seven years of age cannot withdraw their deposits until they have reached the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in each District on ttc business of Post Office Sav. ings Ranks, and the replies sent thereto are tree fron. cnarge or postage.
