Dr Giles returned to Westport yesterday evening from Reefton. He was detained by the flooded state of the rivers. We have excluded a large portion of the telegrams of the mail news via Suez, in consequence of their being a repetition of the news received per Wonga Wonga from San Francisco. In consequence of the lengthened report of Provincial Council proceedings, we are compelled to hold over a letter on the question of a municipality, our Charleston letter, various items from Reefton, and inter-provincial news. A Nelson horse, Patch, arrived by the steamer Charles Edward to take part in the races. He is owned by Mr M'Glashan, and was formerly the property of Mr Redwood.
