WESTPORT WARDEN'S COURT.
Friday, March 27. (Before J. Giles, Esq., Warden.) Archibald Leslie made application for permission to work an abandoned claim, situated at Christmas Terrace. Granted. Thomas Dick man and party applied for a double area of ground ; also, for registration of a tunnel at German's Terrace. Granted. EXTENDED CLAIM. Duggan and party applied for aa extended area at Waite's Pakiki. The Surveyor's report was as follows : The claim is situated on a terrace on Waite's Pa,kihi, about a mile west* ward of Packer's Point, and half a mile south of ocadshaw Lead. I' contains an area of three acres, is open, and the depth of working is eight feet. The proposed mode of working is to strip the surface, and to sluice the washdirt, which consists chiefly of black sand. An ordinary claim is at presort being worked near the eastern boundary, but the ground adjoining is otherwise unoccupied" Duggau and party have been engaged since the beginning of January in making a dam about four miles distant from the claim, bringing in a race to their ground, and constructing a tailrace. Application granted.
' LEASE. Mr on behalf of Seat on and Ihvidson, Jittle salesmen, made au application for an agricultural lease, held by Isaac Freeth, at tlie head of the Lagoon, South Spit, Buller. It was explained that Messrs Peid and TYuser, trustees in the estate of Messrs Freeth and Co., were willing to transfer the lease.
The Warden stated that it would he necessary to obtain the transfer, and the Court would then register it.
