INSTITUTE ENTERTAINMENT.
The entertainment of last Monday evening was like most of its predecessors, a success. The Kev. Mr. Soutar, of AVestporr, occupied the chair, and was well received. After a few pre. limiuary remarks, he introduced Mr Harcourt, who gave an amusing reading. Mr Hunter followed, with Burns' " Cotter's Saturday night," after which the club gave a German glee. Mr Bear read some extracts from the Life of a London Policeman. Mr Dwan followed, wi*h a poem on the War, Clasp hand-in-hand was then very effectively given by Mr Greenwood, and Mrs Strike ana Miss Bichardet. The Rev. Mr White followed with a leeture on " Milton and bis Times." Mr Greenwood and Miss Bichardet, Mr Alexander, Mr Burcham, Mr Garnett, Mrs Payne and Mr Tregurtha gave songs and readings. The entertainment concluded with the customary vote of thanks to the chair.
