INANGAHUA AND LYELL WARDEN'S COURT.

Tuesday, Feb. 14. (Before Mr Warden Giles, R.M.) The sitting of the Court was held at Christy's. Anderson v. Murphy. This was a claim of £8 7s for wages. The defence to the action was that the parties to the cause held between them a half share in a reef claim on-Murray Creek, and that the defendant had, in January, paid his share of the wages due to the plaintiff (who was supposed to be working the share) to within 17s, and that then he gave notice that he would pay no more, unless he saw some work done. None had been done, and he, the defendant, had given up all connection with the claim. Judgment was given for the plaintiff for the 17s admitted, and the costs of court. The following applications were granted: RACES. Thompson aud party (two applications), Forsyth and party, Morris and party (two .applications), Dowd and party, O'Conor and party. SPECIAL SITES. A certificate of registration for an area of two hundred feet square was granted to Thompson and party for a machine-site. It was, however, made subject to reductiou should the quantity be found to be excessive. The application of O'Conor and party for a machinery site, at the foot of Mitchell's Creek, was postponed to ascertain whether or not there would be an encroachment on another party's ground.

Thompsou and party obtained a certificate for a prospecting area on a newly discovered reef, situated at the head of German Jack's Gully. The hearing of a number of applications for agricultural leases was postponed until after the sitting of" the Provincial Council.

A large number of applications were postponed in consequence of the nonappearance of the parties concerned, the exception being that all applications for protection, not supported by appearance, were strnck out.
