At the Waimea nomination Mr Alfred Baigent and Mr Joseph Shephard were nominated for the district which includes Waugapeka and other goldfields' districts. Mr Luckie was also proposed, but declined to stand. The show of hands was in favor of Mr Baigent. A poll demanded for Mr Shephard, who was proposed without his knowledge.

Nelson, Monday

At Motueka, Sir David Munro and Mr C. Parker were proposed as candidates to represent the district. The show of hands was iu favor of Mr Parker. A poll was demanded, and a close contest is expected.
