POST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANK
The New Zealand Gazette, of March 25tl publishes the following regulations foi th banks as above newly established at Ch-is church, Lytteltou, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akrao Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, Westpor and Charleston. 1. Interest at he rate of 4 per cent. p ( annum is given on £2OO and under ; at th rate of 3 per cent, per annum on sum under £SOO ; and in the same proportion fo any shorter time on every complete £1 de posited, provided that no intere» illowc on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post Office Saving Banks have dirjet Government Security fo the prompt repayment of their money. i 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Offi Banks can continue his deposits at any oft of such Banks, and can withdraw his "mom at that Post Office Bank which is most coi venient to him. 4. The strictest secresy is observed witl respect to the names of depositors in P os ()ffice Banks, and the amounts of their de possits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on b< halt ot minors. Depositors over seven yeai of age are treated as persons of full age bv minors under seven years of age cannot witl draw their deposits until they have reaclie the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in eac Irovince on the business of Post Office Sa< nigs Banks; and the replies sent thereto af tree Iron charge or postage. I
