WESTPORT JOCKEY CLUB RACES.

The Westport Jockey Club Races, for the year ISG9, commenced yesterday. They will probably conclude to-morrow. Our reporter commences his descriptive narrative of the events in these two sentences. He will probably conclude in a few more sentences when he gets leave to do it. The condensation of three columns of news into as many inches of space is an accomplishment which, notwithstanding all the money that has been spent upon him by publishers, and all the temper that has been spent upon him by printers, he has not yet acquired. Probably, the public will be good-tempered enough to wait until Thursday for all but a simple statement of the results. In the interval, grand stand proprietors, booth-keepers, toll-takers, judges, stewards, coach proprietors, and barmaids who expect to be "favorably noticed "arc respectfully requested to treat our reporter with all proper respect.
