NEW LINE of MAIL STEAMERS (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.) (From the W. C. Ti?nes.) Wellington, November 16. Uamiora, one of the Poverty Bay murderers, was executed this morniug. Ho was completely and abjectly cowed and afraid, so much so that he had to be almost carried te the scaffold. The Court of Appeal has closed its sittings. In the case, Borough Council of Kaiapoi v. Beswick, judgment was given in favor of the appellants, without costs. The Government have received a communication from the United States' Consul at Sydney, relative to the establishment of a line of steamers between Sydney and San Francisco, via the Bay of Islands and Honolulu. The Consul states that arrangements have been made for the first steamer to leave Sydney in January, if the Governments of New South Wales and New Zealand will assist them. The Superintendent of Nelson, Mr Curtis, arrived to-day to see the Executive relative to gold on private lands, especially at Wangapeka, where payable quartz has recently been discovered.
