On Thursday, the steamers Kennedy and Charles Edward both entered the Buller on the morning tide, and in the afternoon sailed for their respective destinations. The Kennedy had only a very few passengers for the Manukau from any of the ports. It is not improbable that she may bring many more back, if she should adopt a system of cheap fares, which are said to be only required to induce a reflex of the rush. The steamer Beautiful Star remains in port, and will probably do so until the return of the Charles Edward from the south, or the beginning of favorable wind and weather. Her agent, Mr Houghton, has proceeded to Nelson. The steamer Moutoa has been sold, at Nelson, to Mr Paul, for £l6O. The Nelson Trust Funds had lent £4OO on the vessel, and this is all that is recovered of principal and interest.
