The Waipara came in on the evening tide of Thursday, and sailed yesterday forenoon for Charleston, towing the ketch Constant. The John Penn and Charles Edward, which have been " keeping company " up and down the coast, arrived yesterday from Greymouth —the former with fifty passengers for Manukau, and tho latter with only a few, who were transferred to the Penn. In consequence of this fewness, the Charles Edwards will only proceed to Nelsjn. The rates of pilotage at Nelson have been reduced to £1 for steamers under 240 tons, and a penny per ton for steamers of 210 tons or upwards. These rates are to be charged oa arrival and departure.
