COMMERCIAL.
Westfoet Times Office, Friday Evening. We have nothing unusually brisk to report in business during the week. On the whole a steady trade doing with the various diggings. Supplies are getting short of several leading articles, and prices have considerably advanced. Adelaide flour is moving off in trade parcels at £lB 10s; inter-provincial at £l6. Oats arc held for 4s 3d, and the recent advance in the growing districts fully warrant a higher price. Potatoes are in full supply. We quote Nelson at £5 10s to £6; Taieri at £7. Kerosene has become very scarce, and holders now ask ss. Tbe market is also quite bare of hams, and good samples readily fetch Is 5d to Is Gd. Bacon is more plentiful, and not much in demand. Pickles—This artielo is very scarce, and may now be quoted at 15s to lGs. Neva Company's candles are steady at Is 2d ; Brandon's aud Do Eoubix's, Is Id. Sugars are firm at last quotations.
