CHARLESTON.
During Monday last several vessels appeared oil' the port, and late in the day quite a mosquito ileet were hovering about the roadstead, shewing by their evolutions that they were bound to this place. On Tuesday morning, there being a smooth bar, and the tide serving, the surf boat went out and towed in, in rapid succession, the Constant, Harry Bluff, Standard, Ann, and the Joseph E. Paul, nil from Westport, with general merchandise. Such an unusual number of vessels coming into harbor at once created quite a sensation, and induced several people to take a ramble to the heads to see them brought in. The harbour and Princes street, through such a heavy shipment of goods arriving, presented quite an animated appearance during Tuesday, piles of goods being in front of the stoics, and storekeepers being busily engaged unpacking and stowing them a.way. Great pleasure was expressed at. seeing our old friend t'lo Constant once more on the berth, her absence, through her late mishaps, haying been much felt. The Standard, Harry Bluff, Constant, and Ann, having discharged cargo, were towed out to sea on Tuesday night's tide, the Joseph E. Paul going out the following morning, the tow-boat, after casting her off, taking in tow the Mary Jane, which had worked up to the port during the night. The Mary Jane brings a cargo of general produce, and comes consigned to Mr Gardner, merchant.
