Latest Telegbams. Sydney, March, 18. 10.30. : 11. E.H. the Duke of Edinburgh passed a good night, and to-day is in a comfortable state. Mr Thome is also doing well. O'Earrell has acknowledged that in accordance with his instructions he attempted to assassinate his Royal Highness on two occasions previous to the day of the picnic, but that his intention was frustrated on both'oceasions. The first time his Excellency the Earl of Belmore came in the way and prevented it, and the second time Lord Newry stood between his Royal Highness and the would-be-assassin, and he again refrained from the attempt. 5.45 p.m.: H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburg has been officially declared convalescent.
