HOKITIKA ELECTION.
The latest Hokitika paper to hand contains the following:— "The election of a representative for the Westland Boroughs terminated yesterday, in the return of Mr Harrison, of the " Grey River Argus," by a majority of seventeen votes. It will be seen from the returns on what a false basis the election has been taken, Mr Harrison substantially polling all the voters at Greymouth, and Mr Shaw all the voters at Hokitika. The numbers stand recorded as follows: GItEYMOUTH. Harrison 89 Shaw 1 Hokitika. Harrison ... ~ 9 Shaw 80 Majority for Harrison ... 17 "
