THE THAMES.
Information has been received in town that a canoe laden with £3OO worth of stores, forwarded from Shortland to Mr Eirth's run, was stopped by the natives at Ohinemuri pending the settlement of a dispute between the natives assembled. The stores were taken to Mr Thorpe's place at Ohiiiemuri, until the matter is decided. The natives wrote to Mr Thorpe informing him that the transport of stores to the run would not be allowed. Mr Thorpe went up on "Wednesday, but has not yet returned. Te Munu, a notorious Hauhau, was expected to pay a visit to Omahuto look at the present southern boundary of the goldfield, and it is thought quite possible an attempt may be made to establish an sukati somewhere between that place and Ohinemuri. This is, however, only matter of speculation at present. Southern Cross.
