RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Before J. Giles, Esq., M.D., R.M. Monday, March 9. drlnk and disorderly. Joseph Bray appeared to answer the above charge— Constable Hunter proved to taking the prisoner into custody. The Magistrate on hearing the evidence, sentenced Bray to pay a fine of 10s, or twelve hours imprisonment. WILFUL DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY. George Green was called to answer n charge preferred against him by Margaret Adair, at the Police Camp, ot wilfully destroying property. As neither party appeared, the case was dismissed. SOMNEE V. KIRTON. Plaintiff was represented by Mr Tyler ; Mr Pitt, watched the case on bi h If of the defendant. The plaintiff on being sworn, stated that he sued the defendant for a certain amount, for work done to a cottage, the property of the defendant, and for which had not yet been paid. Judgment was given for amount claimed and costs.
Mr Pitt, for the defendant, who did not appear, applied for two days' grace before judgment, to enable him to communicate with the defendant at Charleston. Several civil cases then came on for hearing, but as none of them were of any great public interest, we forbear from publishing them. The Court then adjourned until 10 a.m. this day.
