MAORI RESERVE.
{To the Editor of the Westport Times and Charleston Argus.) Sir, —In answer to Mr Porter's letter of Saturday last, 1 beg still to inform him that my previous statement was perfectly correct, and when my arrow was in the ground at Tibby's corner, he came out and told me there ought to be a peg there of Mr Burnett's. He accordingly dug for it, and if my arrow had gone deoper, it would have Btfiick it. I wns not aware before that we had a Paul Pry amongst us; therefore it behoves us to be cautious
that their affairs be not meddled with by hiin, in caso he should know more of them than of his own, or unless 'they wish it to become notorious and flourish in print. I may as well state I don't intend answering any further letters on this subject, as it will quickly be set right by the Native Commissioner. I am, &c, J. W. G. Beauchamp, Land and Mining Surveyor.
