MR CRICK CALLS MR WANT AN UNMITIGATED LIAR.
(Received November 20,11 a.m.) Sydney, Decembor 20.
After Mr Want's speech in the Council, Mr Crick replied with reference to the statement that Meagher bad offered to turn Queen's evidenco. He said immediately before the jury's verdict was announced be visited Meagher in Court, and in the presence of another member of tho House, and a score of othei persons, ho asked if Mr Want's statement was true, Meagher replied that it was an absolute and unmitigated lie, and that Crick could challenge Want, Meagher also said if Want dared produce a letter on the matter, purporting to be signed by him, ho would issue a warrant against Want for forgery, Crick added that on the strength of Meagher's statement he now branded Want as an unmitigated liar. Jle pleaded no privilege. Let Want issue a writ against him and he would issue one against \Vant.' He meant to stop Want's proposed trip to Japan.
