A DOMESTIC TRAGEDY.
A DESPERATE WOMAN KILLS HER HUSBAND, DRINK AT THE BOTTOM OF IT. (fitcemil Stcmitr 16,11,20 a.m.J Sydney, December IC. A domestic tragedy is reported from Guilford. Mrs Trenmard surrendered to tho police, stating that she had killed hor husband, who was found doad outside the house with a deep wound in Ms rock. The woman's story is that her husband came home drunk on Saturday night, and ill-treated her. He renewed this conduct on Sunday, 1 and armed himself with an axe and . knife, with which he attempted to strike her; She ran' out of the house, and ho followed and tried to stab her, whereupon she snatched the axe and struck lvim a fatal blow. ; The parties had been separated for some years, but the woman returned recently in order to nurse her little daughter who was ill of fever.
