In recognition of the gallantry displayed ill rescuing tho crew of tho French barque Terre Neuvo off the island of St Paul when that was in a sinking condition, the Sbiff*BT wreck Relief Society has presented the captain and chief officers of tho rescuing vessol, the Aristidos,each with a gold medal, and also those comprising the rescuing boat's crew (live in number) with a silver medal and £5 each. Previously the French Consul-General lmd visited the Aristides, and had officially thanked the rescuers on behalf of the French Government, and eulogised tho bravery of all concerned,
