A curious accident happened at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Wairoa, on Sunday morning. A number of young girls were receiving their first Communion, when one named Grace Hariner became faint, and fell against the candle she held in her hand. Her veil ignited, and the side of her face was burned a good deal, but not seriously.
