From Our Own Correspondent. Gueytowx, Saturday. It is expected that the Minister of Labor will shortly deliver addresses in the various towns in the Waivarapa. Hay-making is suspended in this district onaccountof the wot weather. Many liolds of hay woro ready to bo carted in when the rain came and stopped operations. If tho weather continues tho same much longer, it will do more harm than good to the hay, and cause serious loss to the owners,
The Wesleyan Sunday School picnic on Now Year's Day is to be held on a beautiful spot at Papawai on the banks of the Ruamalmnga, about i!| miles from town. Arrangements will be made to run a brake to and from the picnic during the day. The Anniversary Services in connection with the Wesleyan Sunday School, willnottake place this month. They will probably bo held in January instead, The footpaths here seem to be neglected this year, weeds growing apace in all directions. Mrs Pole is having her premises altered, and intends turning tliein into a boarding-honso. 1 hear that another rival boarding-house keeper intends running meals at Gd. This should draw!
Tho W.F.C.A. premises have been enlarged, and they now hold a frontage to Main-street of G6 feet. The large window in tho drapery department has been adorned for the Christmas season, and look simply splouclid. Mr Murray, of Wellington, lias bought out Mr Pcttie's drapery business here, and intends residing in our town for some time.
The Presbyterian Sunday School havo decided to propone their picnic from Boxing Day to some future date.
Several of the young excursionists while in this town the other day went up to a certain business nian and wanted to know where Greytown was? and also wanted to know where they could obtain a drink of water ? " Oh!" said the man with a sarcastic grin, "yon'ye made a mistake, sonnies, don't you know that you're in Coolgardie, pd if you want a drink you must pay for it." The youngsters soon left. Greytown, Monday.
A young man named Homy Cotter, mot with a serious accidont onThursday evening last. He was in the omploy of Mr Harry Judd, pf ffood-i side, and whilst endeavoring to catch a horse was kicked twice in thegroin. He is progressing as well as can be expeoted under the very painful circumstances. The weather is still very unsettled and is causing great inconvonience to outdoor labor. Mr Uol lings conducted the services in the Wosleyan Church last night.
