THE TOWN LANDS TRUSTEES TAKE IT OYER,
Tlio Comiuitteo appointed by tho Mastorton Town Lands Trust, to re-, port on tho advisability of taking
over tho Mastorton Museum, sent in t tboir report yesterday, the samo ad- ' vising that tho Trust tako chargo of tho Museum in tho public interests, and refund to Mr R, Brown tlio sum of £BS expended by him in connection therewith. Mr Brown said that recently when in Wellington, ho had seen Dr Hector who had promised to give what assistance he could. Mr T. W. Kirk liad also given some valuable information and advice, and promised to como up and arrange exhibits. Mr Hornblow moved that tlio committee's roport bo adopted. Mr Mackay, tho Government Geologist,: had recently visited tho Museum, and spoko very highly of the geological specimens. Mr Mackay had ftlso promised, if ho could obtain Government permission, to place his services at the Trust's disposal so far as arranging the geological specimens was concerned.
