FROZEN MEAT TRADE.
' London, November 27. Messrs Weddell, the well-known | frozen meat dealers, were banquetted 1 by the merchants of Manchester to celebrate tho arrival of the Timaru ' with her cargo, direct for that township. 1 The Chairman of the Ship Canal 1 presided, He said ho hoped the trade would grow to huge propori tions. Mr W. Weddell said the export ol mutton from Australia would shortly i overshadow tho New Zealand trade ■ and declared they would havo tc fight the Argentine growors. ■ All expressed the belief that tin ' marking of imported meat would ' provo of benefit to the Colonies.
