Bauds serenaded tho successful candidate in the evening and the crowd cheered him loudly, Tho result was a very popular one. Ataspecial meeting of the County Council held yesterday, Mr J. Griffith was elected Chairman for tho ensuing year unopposed, Mr G. Whitcombe declining nomination.
