Tho Government Statistician, reporting on the growth of sugar beet, says regarding the tests, that the roots grown for experimental purposes, in tho different districts, experts pronounce tho yields unparalleled in the history of the cultivation of beet, and thero is a general development of cropping where the soil is unsuited for sugar caue. Should the cultivation fulfil but half the expectations of tho promoters, there is little doubt hut that it will greatly modify the agriculture of the Colony, and add another profitable staple to its resources.
