MONTHLY MEETING. Tlio monthly meeting of tho Masterton Trust Lands Trustees, was hold on Friday afternoon, there being present—Messrs C. E. Darnell ' J& the Chair), It. E. Horuhlow, A. ■ Wvaml A. W. ltciiall. MIMTES. Tho minutes of the previous meeting wove read and confirmed. TIIKAKUIIKII's KEI'OIIT. Tlio Treasurer reported a credit balance at date of £iU 4s Id. ACl'Ol'X'l'S. Accounts as presented, were passed for payment. THE TOWX HALL. The Secretary stated that lie had received certain suggestions from JJf G. K. Bond, regarding a circular calling for designs for a Town Hall. ! t These suggestions had been laid before the Trustees. On the motion of Mr Vile, seconded by Mr Dauicll, Hie matter was postponed till next meeting. SCHOOL (WANTS, The second instalment of the grants for the Masterton and Fern- . • ridgo school, were passed for payment, 4TKOII.VH.XI. CUSSES. ho question of establishing technical classes, was further postponed. TKNUKHS I'Oll LEASES. The following tenders for leases b \vereieceived:-Fortueold llrewery, £i per annum, Messrs Pinhey; J. Ewington, £5 per annum for '2l years and a £IOO building. Paddock in Bannister-street, A. Falls, £G per acre; A. W. Hogg, £o ss. MrEwington'steuderwusuccepted for the Old Brewery site. On the motion of Mr A. Vile, tlio tenders for the paddock in Bannisterstreet were declined, and it was decided to advertise that the Trust is prepared to receive applications at any time for any vacant section. FIRE IIIiIGADKS. The Secretary to the Wairarapa i Fire Brigades Association wrote asking the support at their coming Five Brigades Demonstration. Mr Hornblow spoke in very complimentary terms of the Brigades' work, and thought they deserved y&ort, Wr Vile said as the Trustees of property they would be justified in supporting the Brigades, Mr Hornblow moved that tlio sum of £lO be granted, The question of the legality of any grant to an Association affecting places outside their district was discussed, and it was decided that it be suggested that one of tlio local fire Brigades apply for a grant, to "* bo handed over by the Brigade to the Associacion. JIASTEIITOX JII'SEI'M. With reference to the Masterton Museum, the Chairman said he should like to see the question decided whether the Trnstcould take over the Museum. The Clerk said there was no possibility of the Borough Council taking over the Museum. The Clerk said there was no hnrry torepay tho money already expended, but he was anxious to see cases obtained to place the birds and other • 'JPt'- s - vc O' ' lu 'o c interest was taTkon in the exhibits by school children. Messrs Vile and Hornblow spoke in favor of doing something for the Museum. Mr Hornblow said it would bo just nswell to settle the matter once for all. Mr Vile moved that cases lie procured at once for the museum exhibits the cost not to exceed £ls, and that Messi's Daniel!, Hornblow and Vile leport to next meeting on the advisability or otherwise of taking over the Museum altogether. The motion was carried and no other business coming forward tlio meeting adjourned,
