Tho last oxteiisiou mado to Mi Danioll's hardwaro store is just completed, and forms a substantial ad | dition to tho store. In another compartment wo come to a great stock of wall papers arranged methodically round the walls so as to be easily picked out as required. Passing along we come tc the newest section of the shop which our representative had been specially invited to inspect, and aro surprised to find tho business-like appearance of tho whole placo. The space is divided off into bays, marked respectively—' oilß and colours,' 1 nails and staples,' 1 pumps and pipe fittings,' ' wiro netting,' ' cement,' etc. Two large doorways opening into the yard facilitate the handling of heavy goods. Centrally situated in the store (which, with the additions, measures 130 feet in length) is the ofiico presided over by Mr P W. Temple—Mr Daniell's energetic lieutenant—who is kopt busily engaged all day with the firm's clerical work. Leavingtho building we pass through the yard to the back storo, an erection somo 50 x 30 feet, crammed full with doors and windows, galvanised iron, glass, and the many various requirements of tho building trade, ready for delivery. Over this is the joinery shop, while near by are two large sheds full of dry dressed timber and mouldings, tior upon tier reaching some 20ft high, while in tho yard (about one aero in extent) is stacked some 200,000 ft of timber in various stages of seasoning, The importance of Mr Daniell's business as a local industry is plainly ovidonced by the fact that he constantly employs about thirty hands in addition to tho large staff of men engaged at his sawmill, Settlersiu this district—andbuilders and contractors also—are beginning to realise that Mr Daniell is quite able to supply their wants; that his stock is new and of the most suitable description and that his prices compare favourably with any other firm in the Colony. Mr Daniell is a thoroughly energetic business man who has made up his mind to succeed, and lie certainly appears to be on the right road,
