THE BROKEN HILL FIRE.
Received October 21, lOAOjhin. Syuxkv, October 21. The Are in Block Eleven, Broken Hill, which was supposed to have been extinguished, has found its way to the 150 feet level of Block Ton, which is now alight. Stcehed October 22,10.55 a.m. Svdxbv, October 22. A large area of hind has subsided ill the levels where the lire was located, There have been indications for some time that it was approaching from Block Eleven, but it was thought the burners erected would prevent the invasion which is supposed to have made its way through underground tissues. All available force is engaged fighting it, and immense quantities of water are being poured in, The latest official reports state that tho firo is confined to a small suction on tho boundary of Block Eleven, and the management are very hopeful that they will prevent its spread, The outbreak has had a very depressing effect on shaves in BlockTon, which fell from 75s to 60s. They have since slightly recovered. Shares in the other mines in the vicinity, have also beon considerably affected
