EXCELSIOR CRICKET CLUB.
SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting of the above Club, was held last Saturday evening, in the Prince of Wales' Hotel, and was fairly well attended. Mr W. Johnston was voted to the Chair, Tho resignation of the late captain (Mr E, Harland) was accepted with regret, and Mr H. Baggo duly elected in his stead. Messrs Johnston and G. W, Nicol wore elected delegates to tho Thursday Union. toi Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs J, Wickens, W. Redmond, nnd G. H, Green, for thoirpromised' donations and trophies to tho Club. ' Mr H, K. Nicholson, who was pregent at tho meeting, announced his intention to present tho Club with a cricket ball and shield, for tho best bowling average, aud a hearty vote of thanks was accorded him. Half-a-dozen additional new members were elected, and a hearty vote of thanks to tho Chair, and to Mr J, < Tucker for tho uso of the room, concluded the business of the meeting,
