FAKING A DEAD CHINAMAN.

The constable telegraphed a fow days ago, that ho was informed that the body had been found on tho bank of the river, Tho body was., - conveyed to Aleiandra, and whoa found, the hands and foet wore firmly tied together and a atono round tho ucck. Thero wns ovcry reason to suspect foul play. Arrangements were made for holdingan inquest, and the missing Chinaman's brother was called to identify the body, but he failed to do so. Further examination then ro- 1 - vealod the fact that there was na human body at all. A sheepskin had boon used to make tho face, pig bonos to mako the arms, and the entrails of an animal, probably a sheep, to mako the body. A set of goat's teeth gleamed in the mouth, and altogether tho mako-up was perfect. Of course tho inquest proceeded * no further. In tho meantime, nothing has been heard of tho missing Chinaman, and Inspector Pardyj boing dissatisfied, leaves for Alow andra, to investigate the matter.
