MAURICEVILLE ATHLETIC CLUB.

The 9th Annual Meeting of the above Club was held on Saturday, 12th October, 189."., and was well attended, the following members being present -Messrs G. Gunderson, J. Cottis, B. Brooks, 0. Brooks, H. 0. Peterson, N. Albrechtscn,P. Gleeson, J. Gleeson, A. Stewart, J. Kennedy, Qnin, R, Carroll, J. Blade, A. McKenzie, Smith, and Geo, Franklin. The minutes of the previous meeting were road and continued. The Secretary, Mr Geo. Franklin, presented his balance-sheet for the year ending 12th October, showing a substantial credit balance of £9 17s 7d. On the motion of Mr Smith seconded by J, Kennedy, the balancesheet was adopted as read. The election of officers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with and resulted as follows:—President, Mr G. Gunderson (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs Smith nnd J. F. Heckler; secretary, Mr Geo, Frauklin; treasurer, Mr 6. Gunderson ; judges, Messrs J. Gleeson, Smith, Brooks, P. Gleeson, H. C. Peterson, F. Eummer, It. Carrol, i. Cottis and G. Gunderson; handicappers, R. Carroll, J. Gleeson and P. Gleeson; starter, Mr R, Brooks; auditors, Messrs Qnin and J. Konnedy. The Standing Orders of the Club were adopted. It was decided to | have the hollows of the racing track filled.
Resolved fo hold Sports on the !7th December, and to advertise in loth Masterton papers.
A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr W. B. Abbott for his subscription to the Club and the next meeting was lixed for the 9th November.
A vote of thanks to the retiring officers terminated the best attended annual meeting the Club ever held.
