FEATHERSTON NEWS.

From Our Own Cormpondent. .Jk Feathekston, Wednesday. The annual meeting of the Fcathorston District Rillo Club was held on Saturday evening, when dipt. J. 0. Bidwill was in the chair; there being a very poor attendance of members present. The report and balance sheet were read and adopted, and showed that tho receipts and expenditure for the years 1894-95 \ were: receipts, £27 7s 6d; expenditure, £22 7s od | balance in hand, £5 Os Id; and assets, £2O Os Id. It was resolved to start the shooting season on the first Saturday in this month. The election of officors was deferred till 12th inst, upon the receipt of a deputation re the form- ) ing of a local branch of the F.D.K.C, the public meeting which was contoned having fallen through owing to the unavoidable absence of the convenor, Mr Bock. On Monday evening, the instruments of tho Band wero issued to the now members by the Trustee!-., »ud it is thought that ere long wo ' , will have a really good band in our ' midst. Mr J. Kearsley has been jr appointed comlnctor. t| On Wednesday evening the usual monthly meeting of the School Committee was held. The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £l3 2s lid. Tho usual routine business > f was gone through, the visitor's report * being satisfactory. The report of the examination was not to hand. The Juvenile Oddfellows' social and dance was held last evening, and was a great success, there being over 120 couples present. Everything went off splendidly, all seeming to thoroujfhly enjoy themselves.
