MASTERTON CEMETERY TRUST.
QUARTEIM MEETING. The usual quarterly meeting of the Mnstorton Cemetery Trustees was hold last ovoning. Presont— Messrs E, Feist (Chairman), A, R, Runny, C. E. Daniell, W. Perry, and R. Hare. MIXMES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, RETORT, Tho Treasurer reported a credit balaneo in Bank, £33 3s 7d, and £2 10s in hand of tho Treasurer. RESHSXATIOX. Mr J. Paytou wrote, resigning his position as a Trustee, and suggesting that Mr W. Sellar's appointment, would be acceptable to tho Anglican portion of the community. On the motion of Mr Feist, seconded by Mr Daniel, the resignation of Mr Paytou was accepted with regret, Tho Chairman said he was sure that all the Trustees, with himself, would regret that ill-health had compelled Mr Paytou to resign bis position on the Trust, Mr Paytou had always taken a keen interest in the management of the Cemetery. Mr Dauiell said be could endorse all that had been said by tho Chairman. On the motion of the Clmiiman, seconded by Mr Daniell, it was resolved to ask Mr Sellar to accept a seat on the Trust, and to forward the recommendation to the Governor.
AI/fKItIKG THE FOOTPATHS. Mr Daniell moved the motion, of which he had given notice, that the footpaths be altered so as to run at right angles through the Cemetery. He did not know whether all the bodies interested were Catholic enough to approve the proposal. The proposal would make the appearance of the ground more regular. The cost of altering the footpaths would be immaterial, and none of the bodies would have any ground for complaint, as it was merely an alteration of boundaries. Mr Bunny said lie had no intimation of the proposed alteration, and as there could be nothing lost by holding over the motion, he asked that this be done for the purpose of allowing him to visit the ground to see the effect of the proposed alteration. Mr Hare also stated his wish to visit the Cemetery for the same purpose. Mr Daniell agreed to the adjournment. Un the motion of Mr Hare seconded by Mr Daniell, it was resolved to alter the date of meeting to the third Thursday in the month so as to bring the meeting on the same day as the meeting of the Park Trustees. WORKS COMMITTEE. Messrs Bunny and Perry wore appointed the Works Committee for tho period ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £2 13s 3d were passed for payment and the meeting then adjourned.
